The Canon of Flanders was produced by a committee of experts commissioned by the Flemish government. The full commissioning letter, the composition of the committee and the experts on whom the committee has called, can be found in this report.

The Historical Research Bureau Geheugen Collectief has collaborated in the editing of the public texts and visual research.

The VRT contributed to the enriching of the website with visual material. See the heading VRT archive at the bottom of the windows.

This website, commissioned by the committee, was developed by iO Digital and together with the canon book, published by Borgerhoff & Lamberigts, first launched on 9 May 2023.

The version for readers with lesser linguistic competence was produced in collaboration with the centre for clear language Wablieft and was presented in CVO Semper in Vilvoorde on 10 October 2023.

Paul Vincent was the translator for this English language edition, which was presented at Museum Hof van Busleyden (Mechelen) on 25 March 2024.
